Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? The most important problems of our society can be solved during our lifetime.
Call me a pessimist. Personally, I think that few [否定在这里] of the majorstruggles or sufferings of human beings can be solved within my allotted time “我被分配的时间”，其实就是“自然给予我的生命时间”，就是“我的寿命”. Instead, I believe that those problems will persist regardless of our serious attempts to solve them and that they may seem to be solved but actually appear repeatedly with a deceptive new packaging yet unchanged nature. 套路深 之 “反问句”，是一种措辞技巧，“强词夺理”给出观点：Why do I hold such an upsetting 负评价词暗示观点 view?
The numerous times of disappointment in history have made a compelling case [make a case]. Many of the problems we are dealing with have long been difficulties since they first bothered us years or decades back. 然后举例论证：For instance, people can still die young of illness. At this point, the opponents may find counterexamples that experts have been finding cures for more and more diseases that used to be lethal and are able to effectively intervene “（良性）干预”，是“正评价”词 before the conditions take many lives. 转折，拉回自己的立场：However, while increasing numbers of patients are cured, even moreunprecedented fatal viruses and pathological changes are also discovered. Theirrefutable fact, defeating, is that there will always be conditions that can take one’s life in the one’s prime.接下来，短句舒缓一下节奏： Another case is crime. 然后，笔者偏爱的措辞技巧: rhetorical question：Did it even stop for a while in the long history of humanity? In fact, not only does 注意此处的倒装（注意学习此处倒装的原则） it remain stubborn, it also varies. To name a few specific cases, fraud has always been a problem, and corruption has never been eliminated.
The other major reason is the intrinsic “内在的、固有的” flaws of humanity. It is fair to believe that many of our deficiencies “缺陷” can never be fixed, and as a result, the most important problems, 非限定从句舒缓一下语流：which are the result of those defects “（先天）缺陷”, can never be fixed. 前方高能句式：假设论证的排比用法，建议背诵 + 论证：假设法： If we humans were able to restrain our greed “抑制我们的贪婪”, there would be no more fraud or corruption. If we humans were able to quit our gluttony “戒除我们的暴食欲”, there may be reduced incidence of illness. If we humans were able to curb our temper“抑制我们的脾气”, there would be less violence.Unfortunately, none [否定在这里] of the conditionals have ever been and could never be real cases, and consequently, few [否定在这里] of the many problems that we struggle with could be solved.
Admittedly, it is fair for any optimistic individual 注意接下来的不定式的平行现象 to stand opposite me, to rebut my idea and to argue otherwise. They may be seeing a small picture in which a number of specific problems are solved indeed and therefore seeing only the sunlight, however. I believe that I see the greater picture.
