1、托福作文开头段写作原则
在托福写作中，开头段应具备“一个中心，两个基本点”。
一个中心：指的是在开头段应明确的表明文章中心观点。
两个基本点：即开头段需要概括出两个分论点。
2、如何写好开头段
中心和基本点明确后，接下来怎么写好开头段，托福成都培训的老师是这样说的。
1）直接切入法
题目：Do you agree or disagree with the following statement:Today advertising is less honest than in the past, for this reason, it is not very useful to people as they decide which product to buy.
老师建议这样写：
In many cases, consumers often find themselves in a dilemma when facing numerous brands of a same product in the mall(引出话题)。 This may be attributed to the fact that most consumers do not have a clear idea of what they really want. ( 适当解释原因) As far as I am concerned, advertisement plays an important role in assisting people to make buying decision for (表原因，用以引出分论点)it firstly keeps consumers well-informed of a product and also it may bring more economical benefits such as discounts to customers because of commercial competitions.( 阐述文章观点，概括两个分论点)
2）转折切入法
题目：Do you agree or disagree with the following statement:Working at home using computers or telephones is better than working in the office.
老师建议这样写：
In the past, people used to work in the office sticking to a fixed timetable. ( 描述从前)However,(为即将转入现在做准备) due to the advent of various communication tools,(适当解释原因) recent years have witnessed the phenomenon that an increasing number of people choose to work away from office. ( 描述现在)As far as I am concerned, home working, which is based on computers or telephones, brings more advantages for employees than working in the office.(中心观点) To illustrate, it saves people a lot of commuting time and makes it possible for companies to cut their business cost.(阐述分论点)
