Best
This is the most common; it is perfectly safe.I highly recommend it, and the experts similarly recommend it.
My Best
A bit stiff, as etiquette consultant Li Te likes.
My best to you
Wright loves this one, too.I think this is the old-fashioned one.
All Best
Harmless.
All the best
This works too.
Best Wishes
It looks too much like a greeting card, but it’s good.
Bests
I know someone likes this, but I find it pretty picky. Why do you need the extra "s"?
Best Regards
It’s more formal than the usual “Best”, which is what I use when I need a formal comment.
Regards
Good, easy and helpful.I use this.
Rgds
I used this but stopped because it was hard to abbreviation. Why stop playing the three letters?Well, if you sent it on your phone.
Warm Regards
I like this, a personal email to someone I don’t know well, or a business email as a thank you.
Warmest Regards
It’s as good as a warm hello, with a little extra heat.
Warmest
I often use this to handle personal mail, especially when I am close to someone but not often.
Warmly
This is a wonderful repetition of the theme of “Warmth”and can be used safely between colleagues.
Take care
In the right case, this works, especially for personal emails.
Thanks
Li Te says it’s taboo.”It’s not a closing argument. It’s a thank you, she insisted. I don’t think so. Forbes’s leadership editor, Fred Ellen, uses the word a lot, and I think it’s a nice, warm way to put it. I use it, too.
Thanks so much
I also like this and use it, especially when someone —— colleague, sources, someone with a business relationship with —— puts time and effort into tasks or email.
Thanks!
Which pisses me off, because my old boss used to end every email this way. She always asked me to complete a task, which made her signature seem more like a stern command, with a grudging appreciation than genuine gratitude. But under the right circumstances, it can be great.
Thank you
More formal than "thank you."I would use this one sometimes.
Thank you!
It’s not as harsh as “Thank you.”Add “You”and it melts.
Many thanks
I use this very often when I really appreciate the efforts of the recipient.
Thank you for your concern.
Although a little servile, it is feasible in a business environment, even though it is almost asking for rejection. Avoid this when writing job-related notes.
Thx
I predict that this practice will become more popular as our email becomes more text messaging.
Hope this helps
I like the emails you try to help the recipients.
Looking forward
I also use this.I think it is kind and warm and it shows you desire to meet the recipient.
Rushing
It works when you’re really in a hurry. It expresses humility and respect for the recipient.
In haste
Great, too, when you don't have the time to proofread.
Be well
Some people think that this grating. Not suitable for business mail.
Peace
Retro, this is its political slogan. It doesn't bother me, but others may flinch.
Yours Truly
I don’t like it. It makes me feel like a 10-year-old getting a text from my Swedish pen pal.
Yours
Like the question above.
Very Truly Yours
Wright loved the business email, but I found it stiff and had a pen pal problem.
Sincerely
Ritter also likes this, but for me, it shows that the author stays in the past. Maybe it's ok for some formal business letters, such as the lawyer who handles your dead mother's estate.
Sincerely Yours
Same problem as "sincerity," but more cunning.
Cheers!
I wonder how common this is in the UK. I’ve only seen it with Americans who want to pretend to be British. I know it’s not supposed to make me mad, but it does. And I don’t like being told to pull myself together.
Ciao(意大利语,意为“你好;再见”)
For an English speaker, this is pretentious, although I can see it used in a personal, fun email.
Your name
Bad, but good in many cases.Probably not a good idea for the initial email.
Initial
If you know the recipient, that's fine, and in a business environment, even better if it's someone you're communicating with on a regular basis.
Love
This seems too informal, like over-sharing in a business environment.
XOXO
I hear it’s used in business emails, but I don’t think it’s a good idea.
Lots of love
I will only use this in my personal email."Large assive" makes it more inappropriate enthusiastic than simple, clean "love."
Hugs
It’s hard to imagine in a business email, but when you write to your grandma, it feels really good.
Smiley face
Emojis are becoming increasingly accepted, although some find them rough.I would not sign so, unless I am writing to my children.
;-)
I got an email from a colleague with these symbols on it, and I found them illuminating my life.
[:-)
I love the changes on smiling faces with punctuation, though I suspect most people don't like them.
High five from down low
A colleague shared this terrible closing line, which is often used by a publicist in charge of technical clients. I tried to sound cool, and I failed.
Take it easy bro
While this may disgust some, I can receive an email with this signed because I know the sender lives in an informal environment.
See you around
I’ll back off, but it’s good for me.
Wish you a wonderful day
This is strange and obnoxious.
Sent from my iPhone
This is probably the most common ending. It used to bother me, but I realized that it explained conciseness and typos.
Typos courtesy of my iPhone
A little smart but out of date. It is best to use automatic messages.
It came from a prehistoric stone tablet
I laughed the first time I read it, but then there were fewer jokes.
Pardon my monkey thumbs
The same question is here.
Please consider the environment before printing this email.
The relics of the old missionaries. Who doesn’t know about printing paper?
vCards
I think it's a good idea.At least they work fine on my Dell desktop when I want to load contacts into Outlook.
This email will not be recorded unless otherwise noted.
I wonder what kind of paranoia would put this in their signature.
Lengthy disclaimers
We've all seen these and ignored them, even though I know a lot of companies need them.Kay Falkenberg, internal counsel for Forbes, said she was not aware of any cases relying on a legal disclaimer, though she said they could be used as persuasive evidence in trade secret cases that a party tried to keep secret.
1. Don’t use quotation marks.
2. Avoid excessive company logo. Sometimes we have no choice because our company insists on including these contents, but if they are too large, it will distract people's attention from information.
3. Include your title and contact information, but stay short. In most business emails, you are doing someone a favor by sharing your important information. But minimize it.For example, "Susan Adams, Senior Editor of Forbes, 212-206-5571."
It must include some kind of signature.
