　　1. luck/ˈlʌk/

　　n. 运气

　　常见搭配：

　　beginner’s luck 新手运气

　　try/ test one’s luck 碰运气

　　e.g. I won the game on my first try. It was probably beginner’s luck.

　　e.g. Many young people go to big cities to try their luck.

　　其他搭配：

　　down on one’s luck 时运不济[常指一段时间]

　　down-on-one’s luck adj. 倒霉的;失意的

　　e.g. He lost his job and has been down on his luck ever since.

　　e.g. The movie tells the story of a down-on-his-luck businessman who starts over from scratch.

　　常见搭配：

　　e.g. I’m not very superstitious, but occasionally Murphy’s Law feels surprisingly accurate.

　　4. superstition /ˌsuːpə'stɪʃ(ə)n/

　　n. 迷信

　　e.g. Some people believe breaking a mirror brings bad luck, but it’s just superstition.

　　e.g. People’s beliefs were full of ignorance and superstition.

　　adj. superstitious 迷信的

　　e.g.Some superstitious practices should be abolished as soon as possible.
