1. As to news sources, social media also has the edge over traditional forms like newspapers. 

这一句开门见山，简明指出社交媒体对于获得新闻的好处。

2. Admittedly, compared with news shown on social media, which may be fabricated, the stories reported on newspapers are rather authentic, since the strict censorship requires editors to be certain about minute details. 

这句话比较长：由compared with的句型，引出社交媒体相较于传统纸媒的弊端——不够权威。

3. Social media users may be misled by some idle gossip, and even worse, accelerate the spreading such fake news via modern platforms.  

进一步解释：社交媒体的特性导致错误信息的进一步扩散

4. However, this can in effect be prevented as long as netizens foster the ability to seek authoritative sources and to distinguish the information they have acquired.

题干隐含一个比较关系，因此本题型下，一定会有反驳（要么好处可以通过其他方式达成，要么坏处可以被避免），才能体现利弊权衡中，有一方更好。

3. 词汇（Lexical Resource）

have the edge over为动词词组，意思是“比…更有优势”。归类于“通用词”。

fabricate为及物动词，意思是“编造，捏造”。归类于“话题高频词”。

authentic为形容词，意思是“权威的”。归类于“通用词”。

censorship为不可数名词，意思是“审查”。归类于“话题高频词”。

minute为形容词，意思是“细小的”。熟词生用。归类于“高光词”。

idle gossip为不可数名词，意思是“小道消息”。归类于“话题高频词”。

4. 语法（Grammatical Range and Accuracy）

第2句中，主句为：Compared with A, 主(B)谓宾。需注意：比较类型的句子一定要保证比较对象一致。Compared with语法上是v.ed形式的非谓语，表被动，对应的逻辑主语就是主句的主语B，因此这个句型下，一定要保证AB互为比较对象。A后面由which引导非限定性定语从句，补充社交媒体上新闻的特性。

第4句“as long as”引导条件状语从句。注意：and连接平行结构，此处连接的是ability之后to do sth. 作定语修饰的部分。

第5句“taking full advantage of” 为v.ing非谓语作状语，逻辑主语为主句主语readers and viewers。rather than连接的是平行结构，语法保持一致，此处连接get informed & wait两个原形动词。
