Employers should give their staffs at least four weeks’ vacation a year to make employees better at their jobs. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

The length of yearly time-off varies from country to country. Some propose that an annual leave of four weeks should be arranged for employees, and I agree that such a policy can enhance workers’ performance.

Irrefutably, it is justifiable for some to assert that such a long vacation may bring certain losses. The most conspicuous one is that this may make workers suffer from post-holiday syndrome. To illustrate, excessive vacations may disrupt their daily routines and working habits, rendering it hard for them to rebuild or readapt to the previous established habits. It is a commonplace that workers usually feel dizzy or less self-motivated after long holidays, with their efficiency and productivity declining. However, those problems can be avoided as long as staffs have learned to adjust to their work schedule in advance.

In this case, they are more energised and motivated after returning. Additionally, the four-week holiday also allows workers to either draw inspiration and spice up their lives by travelling around or enlarge the scope of knowledge and tap their latent potential via attending extra courses, both of which will make them more productive later in work.
