the home front指的就是家庭。
clarity n. 清晰；清楚；明了。
这里的such clarity指上一段说的工作是很简单的，就是劳动，然后，获得报酬。但是，在家干活，就不是这样了。
②Rare is the household in which the division of labor is so clinically and methodically laid out.（在家）很少能像工作中那样按部门、系统地进行分工。
这是完全倒装，正常是：the household is rare 即：这样的家务是很少的
in which部分是定语从句，修饰household，也是为什么要倒装的原因，不到装就是这样的：the household in which the division of labor is so clinically and methodically laid out is rare. 这个就叫做：“头重脚轻（正确的说法叫做：句子结构不平衡）”
clinical adj. 临床的。—— clinically adv. 临床地（这里是说按照部门分配任务）
methodical adj. 有条不紊的。—— methodically adv. 有条不紊地
lay out：安排；布置

这是两句话，逗号连接的。
inadequate adj. 不足的；不充分的
【逻辑梳理】这里是说，家里事情多，而且，没有回报/奖励（没有成就感）。即：在家干活不像工作那样。

这里最重要的就是it这个词的指代，指代“家务活”，就是如果不是小孩子的话，那就要劝说他们做家务（你妈叫你拖过地，洗过碗的都懂）；如果是小孩子，就要威胁他说，把玩具没收了，这样才能迫使他们加入到做家务的行列里来。

if部分是条件状语从句
teenager n. 年轻人
threatened部分是分词做状语，表示方式，可以写成by threatening
removal n. 移出。
device n. 设备（比如：玩具、手机之类的）
这里的threaten部分也可以这样看：they need to be threatened with complete removal of all electronic devices
这样看，意思就不完整了，威胁干什么呢？
【逻辑梳理】这里是说，女性在家干活，不仅没有报酬，而且，还要劝说其他的家庭成员干活（有跪求的感觉），如果是小孩子的话，还得威胁、恐吓，他们，就一个字：“累”
