  US stocks are retreating partly on news of Spain's weakbond auction which is stocking new fears of European debt crisis. Last week Spain announced tax hikes and deep spending cuts. The price of gold has fallen to its lowest level since January. At last glance on Wall Street, the Dow was down 120 points, nearly one percent of 13,079.

  The stock act its formally law. President Obama signedlegislation today. The bars members of Congress, the President and thousands of federal workers from profiting of non-public information learned on the job.

  We should limit any elected official from owning stocks industry they have the power to impact . We should make sure people who bundle campaign contributions for congress can't lobby congress and vice versa.Provisions of law will be enforced beginning this summer.

  About 2,000 people are losing their jobs at Yahoo. The internet company says it has to make cuts in order toeffectively position the company in better financial standing. But the broader job market in the US appears brighter. A payroll processing group says companies have been hiring more people in recent month. The monthly job report comes out on Friday.

  Dallas-Fort Worth is cleaned up today after getting hit by as many as dozens of tornados yesterday afternoon. We have the details from NPR's Wade Goodwin.

  The Dallas-Fort Worth area really dodged a bullet. Imean we've got hundreds and hundreds of homes destroyed but amazingly no fatalities.

  There was wide spread damage. The suburbs of and got worse with roofs swept off and the leafless trees that signal a dangerous twister comes through. More than 400 flights have been cancelled at the DFW today as planes inspector for hail damage. The mostinconvenience group, school children arrived home tocomplain they've spent 4 hours cooped-up in the bathrooms and hallways bored stiff after the initialexcitement.   There is war that Syrian troops are starting to pull out at some of the calmer areas of military year old conflictwith rebels. NPR's Clark reports the President is publicly reaffirming his commitment to a UN-backed deadline for Syrian forces to withdraw from towns and cities in less than a week.

  The official who asked not to be named told the Associated Press soldiers were returning to their bases in calmer areas and pulling back to the outskirts of tense cities. But opposition activists deny any sign ofmilitary withdraw or retreat. Shelling is reportedly continuing in the cities of Homs.   Now that Mitt Romney is closer to clutching the GOP presidential nomination after his latest primaryvictories, his campaign is launching a joint fund-raising effort with through national committee in preparation for the big November vote. Details from NPR's Peter.

  The GOP effort donor for a single check for the Romney campaign committee and the national committee and several party committees in battle ground states. The total is as much as 75,800 dollars or 15 times its legal limit for Romney's committee alone. The money chase this year is so relentless The RNC couldn't wait till the primaries were over. A Romney spokeswoman says donors are ready to mobilize for November and understand they need to get started now. This joint fund-raising is completely unrelated to the independent super PACs supporting Romney. The biggest contribution it's gotten so far is three million dollars.   The suspect in the shooting rampage at religiousschool in Oakland California this week is expected to make his first court appearance within hours. Thesuspect is accused in the deaths of 7 people. The 43 year old South Korean native is being held without bail.

  The Associated Press is being reporting Greece's Trackand Field fill federation has suspended all supports operations after Greece made deep cuts in state funding as part its broad austerity measures. The suspensioncomes just one month before Greece holds the Olympicflame lighting ceremony in ancient Olympia for the 2012 London Games.

  US stocks seeing losses today with Dow off 12 points, Nasdaq down 51 and S&P500 down 14 points.
