Introduction
Illiteracy, in spite of increasingly easier access to education, is still a thorny issue in many parts of the world. People without the ability to read and write, indisputably, would be up against prickly problems and to put an end to the appalling level of illiteracy, protracted and unremitting efforts from the government are in desperate need.

First and foremost, illiterate adults, unable to perform daily tasks on their own, are on the hip in terms of the everyday life. For instance, without the reading ability, they can neither read newspapers to be informed nor be aware of road signs while travelling outside. Being incompetent in writing, by no means would it be possible for them to sign their names on the essential files. In addition, the uneducated ones are also on a sticky wicket in the job market, which is incisively and vividly presented in their job-seeking. In modern age, proficient reading and writing capacity is indispensable for landing a decent job, be it a lawyer, a doctor or a professor. In stark contrast, without literacy skills, it is not difficult to find that most of the illiterate can only simply engage in manual labor with slender income.

Ticklish as the issue is, viable solutions can be put forward by the government to avert such a bleak future. Primarily, sounding the social welfare system of uneducated persons has strategic and practical significance. To elaborate, voice guide in public places ranging from the hospital to the train station would, in large part, facilitate a patient to see a doctor and ensure them a pleasant journey. To wipe out illiteracy, earmarking financial revenue from the government to distribute educational resources also makes a difference, with which people can be furnished with basic reading and writing skills. Apart from the fiscal policy, the government could encourage more large companies and communities to shoulder joint responsibilities by proffering  job-related training courses so as to raise their employment competence.
