The remaining three countries showed the opposite pattern, with men consistently recording higher proportions than women. Switzerland had the largest percentage of men (45%), significantly higher than the figure for females(35%). Japan recorded the lowest figures for both genders, with 30% for men and 25% for women. Britain showed a similar pattern, where 35% of men held higher education qualifications, 5 percentage points higher than the corresponding figure for women.
