The USA topped the list in all the three subjects, with 69 universities in Biology, followed by 58 in Psychology and 54 in Medicine. Next in the list was the UK, where there were approximately 30 leading universities in Biology and Psychology, compared with 24 for Medicine.

The remaining three countries ranked similarly across the three subjects. Both Australia and Canada had 9 top universities in Biology, slightly ahead of the figure in New Zealand (6). In Medicine, Australia and Canada again showed comparable figures, with 13 and 12 respectively, while only 2 top universities in this field were sited in New Zealand. As for Psychology, New Zealand still ranked the last, with just 2 top universities, around one-third of the figure in Canada (14) and Australia (17).
