众所周知，雅思考试已经成为近年来国内学生出国求学的敲门砖，也是进入高等教育体制更完善的英联邦国家必备的留学证明。越来越多的国外高校要求考生的总分达标，由于写作或者口语实力较弱，所以考生会在考前集中加强阅读的学习，从而从整体上提升总分。在我6年多的雅思教学过程中，事实也证明了，阅读是比较容易且较快提高分数的课程。

 

怎么才能在考前对阅读有详实的准备呢？除了词汇有积累之外，还需要在哪些方面做足功课呢？

 

语法敏感度的训练

 

所有的填空类的题目都需要考生先判断所填单词的词性，如果步草率处理，则在原文定位解决该问题时便会选词不明。如《剑桥6》，Test 3，Passage 3的那篇图表题中，less _____ is processed.考生们很轻易的就在横线处标出了词性----名词，通过扫读看到works by interfering with the way cells process glucose.只注意到了名词，顺势填了个cells.这样的答案让人很无奈，如果再仔细看看题目已知信息，不难发现所填的词非但是个名词，而且是个不可数名词，非但是被动语态，而且应该填入动作的承受者。用process定位后，还是之前那句话，根据主动的主语是被动的宾语，主动的宾语是被动的主语，不难得出答案：glucose

 

句法结构的熟悉

 

《剑桥4-8》，大多数题目用到了长句或难句，这样无形中加大了考生选择定位词的难度。例如：《剑桥》8，Test 2，Passage 3. Tests have shown that odors can help people recognize the ____ belonging to their husbands and wives.该句主干为Tests have shown that odors can help people recognize the ______. belonging to their husbands and wives属于现在分词作空格的后置定语。所以如果用它来定位就相对容易许多。可以定位于B第四行 In one well-known test, women and men were able to distinguish by smell alone clothing worn by their marriage partners from similar clothing worn by other people.该句短语distinguish… from…与题干recognize …同义替换，所以答案为clothing.

 

段落重点的读取

 

文章越来越长，内容越来越晦涩难懂是雅思阅读考试的必然趋势，只有尽量读出各句语义侧重，才好理解段落主旨，为作答Heading铺好路搭好桥。例如《剑4》Part 1一段：In addition, the favored description for the sighted was the favored description for the blind in every instance. What is more, the consensus among the sighted was barely higher than that among the blind. Because motion devices are unfamiliar to the blind, the task I gave them involved some problem solving. Evidently, however, the blind not only figured out meanings for each line of motion, but as a group they generally came up with the same meaning at least as frequently as did sighted subjects.该段由4句话组成。每句话的个词表明作者的写作思路。In addition,承接上段内容。What is more,表明该句与上句并列。Because说明此句为上句原因。Evidently,是整段的小结与归纳。也就是这一句信息，第29题的选择题答案迎刃而解。

 

文章背景的积累

 

雅思阅读考试文章题材多样，主要涉及社会发展类话题，如：自然，科技，发明，文化，社会，心理，管理，交通，教育等。所以知识背景的积累有助于较陌生文章的语义理解。考生在准备期间可以特别关注Economist的非评论性文章，如剑五中的The Truth about the Environment. New Scientist的自然科学文章，如剑六中的Do literate women make better mothers? National Geographic的重大发明和重大事件文章,如剑六的Graying population stays in the pink.所谓处处留意皆学问。在考生复习时间较充分的前提下，不妨多多阅读相关的文章，扩大自己的知识量，以备不时之需。
