  有关食物和吃的话题经常会在雅思口语中考到,下面长沙新航道雅思培训小编来给大家分享一个吃榴莲的故事,大家可以灵活参考。

This topic reminds of the first time I ate durian.

I first tried it when I was a naughty and disrespectful girl. At that time, I used to think those who eat durian were idiots, ‘cause it was the most disgusting fruit I’d ever known. I mean, they smell like poop, and the flesh looks like poop as well.

Once, my mom was eating durian. I went up to her and started to tease her. I was like, ‘Why would you eat something so gross and ugly. They say you are what you eat, do you want to look like this?’ My mom said, ‘You’ve never tried one bite of this, didn’t I teach you not to judge a book by its cover? Believe it or not, it tastes like heaven!’

Obviously, I didn’t buy it. I even said to my mom ‘I’ll never eat poop!’ which I know now is super inappropriate and offensive. Suddenly, she became furious, and she was like, ‘Watch your language!’, and as a punishment, she forced me to finish eating the rest of the durian on the plate, which is a weird punishment, I know.

I stuck out my tongue and licked it carefully. Oddly enough, it was pretty sweet. So I just took one bite. And amazingly, it just melted in my mouth. I realized how stupid I was, and I sincerely apologized to my mom.

That was how I fell in love with this fruit.
