话题分析
这是一道地点类新题，难度中等偏低。题目中所说的高楼没有具体的规定多少才算是高楼，大家只要选择自己曾经看到过的、或者人们公认的比较高的同时具有特色的楼进行描述即可。
一问“Where it is” 地点在哪儿
地点类的话题这一小问经常出现，大家依旧可以按照常规的所在国家、城市、方位、距离来展开回答细节。
二问“What it is used for” 功能是什么
关于高楼的功能，可以是办公区域（比如金融大厦）、电视塔（比如东方明珠）、也可以是高层酒店、餐厅等等，根据真实情况描述即可。
三问“What it looks like”建筑外表
对外表的描述需要相对细致一些，可以从形状、楼高、层高、占地面积、建筑材质、特点展开。
四问“And explain why you like or dislike it” 喜欢/不喜欢的原因
结合高楼的功能和所在位置特点等讲述喜欢/不喜欢的原因，比如说喜欢：高楼很具有设计感，极具审美，待在里面很舒服；高楼里面的装修装饰很便捷现代化，里面的美食很吸引人等；不喜欢：自身原因恐高不敢上去看风景，或者设计的不是自己喜欢的类型等。

A tall building I’d like to describe is the Oriental Pearl TV Tower, which is located in Lujiazui in Pudong district of Shanghai. I visited it 12 years ago when I came to Shanghai for the first time with my wife. We went there mainly because it was such a famous local tourist attraction that we just felt that it was worth paying a visit to. We went to the top by a very fast elevator where we had a panoramic view of the whole city. The experience was quite amazing.
Well, the tower has quite a few functions. The name suggests that it is used for TV transmissions, but it can also be seen as a place for sightseeing, shopping, having meals and entertainment. Next, I’d like to talk about its appearance. Seen from a distance, the tower has two huge spheres, but actually there are altogether 11 of them, big and small. The Oriental Pearl TV Tower also consists of three big columns at the bottom that prevent this structure from falling down.
At 468 meters, it used to be the tallest building in China until it was surpassed by others like the Shanghai World Financial Center. I can’t say I have strong feelings about this structure, but it is seen as the most distinctive landmark in Shanghai. That means the locals people regard it as their pride. I guess one should not miss it travelling in this city. There is also an observation platform high above with a glass floor. Last time, I was standing on it and my legs were trembling!
