最近，有同学问了这样一道题“Describe a city you would recommend as a nice place to live (not your hometown) ”。聊到这个话题就不得不提到伦敦了，我一直将伦敦描述为世界上最好的城市之一。作为英国的首都，伦敦具有悠久的历史，这一点，从伦敦城的建筑上就可以看出来啦。除此之外，伦敦还有许多值得人称赞的野生公园。伦敦到底是怎样一个城市呢？咱们一起来聊一聊吧～
我推荐伦敦的一个主要原因是它是一个多文化的城市，除了有传统与现代相结合的英伦文化，还有其他国家的文化，例如唐人街等，真是多姿多彩呢！

I’ve decided to talk about a place that I often describe as the best city in the world and this city is London. London is the capital of the UK and is located in the south of England. Off the top of my head, it has just under 10 million inhabitants and is teeming with visitors and holidaymakers.
London has a long history and this can be seen in its buildings such as the Houses of Parliament and iconic buildings such as Big Ben and Buckingham Palace where the King of England resides. These buildings give the place a historical feel and in my opinion, it’s like being in a Harry Potter movie when you’re walking around. I would say that London is picturesque because it has a perfect blend of modern and traditional architecture. I like this contrast between the old and new. Paris has this as well but it doesn’t blend it well like London. It is separated into historical and contemporary.
In addition to its buildings, London is an unusual city because it is filled with public parks such as Hyde Park. These are huge open spaces filled with trees, flowers and wildlife. For the residents of London who have very little outdoor space, these are not only attractive places but also great for getting fresh air or walking your dog. For those visiting the city, I think these are great places to visit and have a picnic, if it isn’t raining – if you haven’t heard, it rains a lot in England!
One of the main reasons I’d recommend London is that it is a multicultural city and this makes it colorful as you have places such as Chinatown where there are a large number of Chinese restaurants. If you’re a football fan, you can go to the football stadiums such as Wembley Stadium which is home to the England football team and to me, it’s a stunningly beautiful stadium.
