首先我们先来看第 一句：
Death penalty may be more humane. Because the criminal would not suffer the torture of life imprisonment.
本句的问题出现在because的使用上。Because是引导状语从句的连接词，用来连接两个句子，体现句间的因果关系。该句的错误在于because没有连接句子，原因句单独使用，没有和结果衔接。
修改结果如下：
Death penalty may be more humane because the criminal would not suffer the torture of life imprisonment.
删除前一句的句号，小写because

表示原因：since, as；表示让步：although, even if/though, while；表示转折：while；
接下来我们看第二句：

本句的问题出现在therefore的使用上。therefore为表示结果的副词，不具有连词的作用。该句的错误在于使用therefore来连接句子。
修改结果如下：

把逗号改为句号，therefore要大写。

本句话的问题出现在cause的使用上。cause为表示结果的动词，但是cause后不可接从句。该句的错误在于cause后直接接了由that引导的从句。
修改结果如下：
Changes in lifestyle and diet over the last twenty years have caused more and more children becoming obese.
删除掉that，把从句中的谓语动词become修改成非谓语becoming
