1.not only倒装使用条件
①not only放句首；②not only和but also后都是句子，当这两个条件同时满足时not only后的句子要用部分倒装
Eg1. Not only did Perkin help to raise the profile of science, his “failure” has also helped fight cancer. ------留预三级读写 unit 5 reading 2
从这个例句可以看出，not only后的句子用了部分倒装，而but also所在句子则是正常语序。
Eg2: Our response not only becomes faster when we are faced with danger, but we also benefit from fear by becoming stronger in dangerous situations. -----留预三级读写 unit 7 reading 2
从这个句子可以看出not only所在句子用的是陈述语序，因为这个句子不满足not only放句首的条件
注：also的位置：放在实义动词前，助动词/be/情态动词后
2.not only倒装句在写作中的运用（适用于雅思托福四六级等各种类型考试）
在利弊类，因果类以及报告类作文中都可以涉及到。
Eg1. Nowadays, more and more jobs and task are done by machines which involve hard physical work. Do these effects of this trend outweigh the negative effects? (IELTS 2015.11.19)
这是个利弊类话题，笔者观点是利大于弊，因此我需要写至少两个好处。
好处一：One of the reasons for my support for this technology is that it saves people from hard physical work which may cause harms to people’s body.
好处二：Machines can accomplish some jobs and tasks with less mistakes when they are tired.
这时我们可以通过三步将好处二的中心句改写成not only倒装句
①改写好处一中心句：people can get rid of some hard physical work because of this technology.
②将①得到的句子改写成not only倒装句：Not only can people get rid of some hard physical work because of this technology.
③将not only倒装句和好处二中心句合并：Not only can people get rid of some hard physical work because of this technology, machines can also accomplish some jobs and tasks with less mistakes when they are tired .
当我们熟练运用之后第 一步和第二步则可以省略。
Eg2: Water covers 70% percent of the earth’s surface, while many people still don’t have enough water to drink. Why and what about the solutions?---留预三级unit 9 写作话题
原因1：Salt water which cannot be drunk directly accounts for a large percentage of water resources on earth, which is one of the causes of water shortage.
原因2：Climate of some places also has a huge influence on how much drinking water people can get.
①改写好处一中心句: Undrinkable salt water takes up a large proportion of all water on Earth .
②将①得到的句子改写成not only倒装句：Not only does undrinkable salt water take up a large proportion of all water on Earth .
③将not only倒装句和好处二中心句合并：Not only does undrinkable salt water take up a large proportion of all water on Earth, climate of some places also has a huge influence on how much drinking water people can get.
从以上两个例子可以看出，not only倒装句可以用的范围还是非常广的，各类作文的评分标准中都会含有一条句型多样化的要求，而not only倒装句属于非常好操作的一种增加句型和语法结构多样化的方式了。
