  Car-Vehicle是雅思口语话题较高频的常考话题,在雅思口语Part 1和Part 2中均有出现。下面和北京新航道雅思培训小编一起来看看这类话题怎么说,以下内容供大家参考练习:

  Can you drive a car?

Not really. You see, in China you are not allowed to drive till you are 18 years old, and I’m still 7 months away from it. But I really look forward to learning how to drive and hopefully I would have my driver’s license. Then I’d take my first car journey to… well, I don’t know, like…Tibet, or Yunnan.

I think driving would give me a sense of achievement for I would be able to take control over a complex machine. It would also give me a sense of freedom because then I could travel to pretty much anywhere I would want to go.

  Do you like cars?

Well, I guess I do. Of course I don’t really have a car, and I’ve never drove one, so I don’t actually know much about cars. My passion for cars comes from a movie “the fast and the furious”. The movies is basically about the life of a bunch of car thieves who defy the law but stick to their own principles and who take care of each other like families. The fancy sports cars in the movie makes these people invincible.

If you were to buy a car, what would you choose?

It’s really hard. There are so many cars I would dream to have, but if I had to single out my best favorite, It would have to be, I guess, the Bugatti Veyron. At the top speed of 430 kilometers per hour, it’s the fastest mass-produced vehicle on earth. Its mighty W16 engine can produce as much as 1200 horsepower, which enables the vehicle to accelerate from zero to one hundred km/h within only 2.5 seconds. And the most amazing thing about Veyron is its braking system. At the speed of 100 km/h, the monster can be called to a full halt within just 2.2 seconds. If I could have one of the Bugatti, I would have nothing to regret in my life.

Do you like travelling by car?

Well, it depends on the nature of the trip. For short-distance travelling, I’d say yes, because, as I mentioned above, I love driving. However, if I were to travel a long distance, I’d probably take the train or the airplane. After all, driving is a tedious work. You have to stay focused, otherwise car accidents might occur.

  Why people buy private cars?

I think they have different reasons. For most people, I guess, a car is simply a means of transportation. The housing price in the cities is shooting up fast, so a lot of people have to settle down in the sub-urban regions, in which case cars are really just essentials. For rich people, however, buying private cars is more of a way to show-off. The car you drive can, to some degree, reflect your social status, financial condition, and your taste. Some people even compete to buy luxurious cars, which is so stupid.
