I’m not really into photography, however, I have taken thousands of photos, as most people do these days since the advent of the smartphone. The most meaningful photograph to me is the big family portrait that is hung on the wall of my parent’s living room and it is the first thing that everyone notices the moment they walk into their house.
The photograph was taken 8 years ago at my eldest sister’s wedding. The wedding took place in Cotswolds which is a region in south-west England consisting of beautiful countryside, picturesque villages and vibrant market towns.
The photo is of my whole nuclear family – my parents, my two older sisters, and me. In the picture, everyone is smiling beautifully in front of a backdrop of endless rolling hills. If you look closely, you can even see some farm animals in the distant background. It was a scorching hot day, and the sky was blue with no clouds, making it a perfect scene to take a photo. I’m not the most skilled photographer, but I managed to encapsulate the moment perfectly.
The photo is very special to me as I don’t live near my family at present. Whenever I feel homesick, just looking at the picture cheers me up right away. Seeing the photo immediately brings back all the wonderfully memories I have of that day.
