Today, the load of work or study may be too heavy to give people a moment toenjoy themselves. However, rather than idling away [idle away something] the limited spare time on the couch or in the malls and regretting the waste of a good night or weekend afterwards, people may use the time to learn something new.

One probable choice is to learn a new sport. [先小让一步，显得公平：] Indeed, learning the sport is an opportunity to exercise, offering health benefits. Also, if the sport is a group activity, participants have a chance to socialize. However,wouldn’t it be too physically demanding after a busy day of work or study or too exhausting before another day of work ahead? [反问句] Also, if an instructor is hired, the cost can be a considerable sum of money. Another proposal is to develop one’s handicraft, which is an unusual choice, a choice that may be made by only a small number of people, predominantly females. Males would not even consider the likelihood that they hold a needle between their clumsy fingers and sew or pick up beads one by one and thread without a blink of an eye. In addition, busy people may already get impatient or irritated [irritate] when they shop for the materials and tools, which may be of too many types, colors and sizes.

At this point, the discussion may be wrapped up [wrap up something]. Learning a new sport may be a common choice but not as recommendable as is thought, and learning handicraft seems fairly unlikely. Learning to cook therefore stands out from [stand out from] the other two options.
