While knowledgeable scholars and gentlemen jeered at the idea of excavating Troy, Heinrich Schliemann brought dedication, enthusiasm, conviction and his considerable fortune to the exploration. Intrigued in Homer's epic, Schliemann, an amateur archaeologist, spent the last decade of his life digging out the palace in his imagination. His hard work led to a great discovery. A cache of gold and other remains shining in dirt brought to light a lost city and civilization described in myths and legends. The publicity of such a great discovery backfired when the Turkish government sued Schliemann for a share of the gold. So, he had to "smuggle" the treasure out of Turkey in order to protect the items from corrupt local officials. Also, the groundbreaking finding brought Schliemann condemns from later archaeologists as having destroyed the main layers of the real Troy. However, Schliemann was permanently admirable for his passion and motivation for truth.

Méliès’, an early film director, is a man who created dreams. In addition to combining traditional theatrical elements with motion pictures, he discovered ways of manipulating and distorting time and space to achieve complex special effects. His brilliant ideas were inspired from a mistake which changed the way he looked at filmmaking. In the autumn of 1896, a camera jammed while filming a simple street scene and it took Méliès a few seconds to rectify the problem. Later, he was struck by the effect caused by the mistake - objects suddenly appeared, disappeared or were transformed into other objects. This amazing discovery led Méliès to devise the first double exposure, the first split screen with performers acting opposite themselves, and the first dissolve. Also it helped Méliès to expand his imagination with which he produced magical and fantastic movies that were considered to be the most important early science fiction films.

Tourette’s Syndrome is an inherited neuropsychiatric disorder that causes people to make physical and vocal tics. Tortured by such an incurable sickness, most adults are out of work and most kids have to stay at home. Brad Cohen, as a 12-year-old sufferer, was once supposed to just hide away for the rest of his life. However, he had found his own philosophy to live by rather than let Tourette’s win. With optimism and confidence he decided to be a teacher and educate people and to prove that Tourette’s would never get the best of him. After he graduated from college with multiple honors, he began to seek a job at an elementary school in Atlanta. Gifted as he was, he failed to move the interviewers who felt unbearable about the strange noises and tics he made during interviews. Some of them even sneered and jeered at him without a look at his resume. It is not hard to imagine how disappointed and frustrated he was each time when being refused, but it is hard to imagine how much courage it needs for Cohen to face his adversity head on. 24 times of failures ended up with an opening for him at Mountain View Elementary School. And his excellence in teaching convinced all people who once doubted him.
