Jack is 32 years old and he writes programs for computer software and mobile phone apps while Jill is 30 and a fashion designer. Both of them are really well paid and their life is fairly abundant and elegant.
When most Chinese working class spare no efforts to save up and buy apartments of their own, Jack and Jill cozily settle in a rental. It is a 80 square meter apartment, but they successfully avert it into a historical theme park-all their furniture are in ancient styles, the wall paper looks like the Great Wall, on their tables and bedside tables and tea tables, where ornaments or bonsai are expected, are terra-cotta warriors, china plates, porcelain vases and tiny screens with anciently-dressed Chinese ladies. As they said, every Sunday, they were having a journey back through time and would co-play a story once occurring in the past. It sound ridiculous but they really enjoy it.
It is not that they don’t have annoyance. They both have been over 30 years old but still make no plan to start a family, which is chiefly what brings them the annoyance. Parents of they both keep piling up pressure on them but they remain unaffected. They said and I quote, they are too young to have children. Life is a long journey and there is still so much more to feel, to see and to experience, in marriage, in life or in general. One day when they feel tired and old, they will settle down and start a family.
They may be odd, but you always see smiles in their eyes. We may be normal, but we sigh a day many times.
