I took biology back in high school. It was a pretty fun subject to study. I remember my teacher was a tall guy who acquired his doctor’s degree in the US, and he liked to present what he achieved in his research in the class. Honestly, the first class was scary because he said he would make us read literature in biology, which was crazy as none of us showed any interest in academic reading. But when I got the reading materials, I changed my attitude. The articles were actually studied by high school students in the US, and all the information was carefully translated by our teacher so that we didn’t need to worry about language problem. I loved these deep articles as they presented a new view in biology and inspired my classmates and me. And we gradually abandoned our textbook and started to learn more from the new materials.
I liked the way the subject was taught, because it was not exam-oriented but interest-oriented. I spent much more time in understanding concepts and I did it because of curiosity.
