本期节目话题背景
最近，有同学问了这样一道题“Describe a person you know who is from a different culture”。由于我来自一个相当小的城市，我没有机会结识许多来自不同国家或文化的人，但我很高兴认识了来自德国柏林的菲利克斯。他20多岁，是我们小镇上为数不多的外国人之一。我俩到底是如何认识的，咱们一起来聊一聊吧!
我非常尊重菲利克斯，因为他真的努力让自己融入当地文化。除此之外，认识他以后真的让我大开眼界，帮助我消除一些负面的文化成见。

As I come from a pretty small town, I haven’t had the opportunity to meet many people from different countries or cultures, but I’ve had the pleasure of getting to know Felix, a German teacher from Berlin.
Felix had moved to my town about 2 years prior in order to work as a German tutor in the local high school. He was in his mid-twenties, and being one of the few foreigners here, has become a kind of local celebrity.
The first time I met Felix was at a language exchange meeting, which was held at one of the local coffee shops in town. I saw it advertised, and decided to go along, as I really needed to brush up on my German speaking skills. I remember, I was the first to arrive, and introduced myself to Felix, and was immediately taken aback when he started to introduce himself in the local dialect
We got chatting, and hit if off from the start, getting along like a house on fire. Not only did it turn out that we were both football fanatics, but also shared the same taste in music.
We have since become the best of friends, and hang out at least once or twice a week. I really love chatting to him, and getting to learn all about German culture, as well as sharing different aspects of my own culture with him. I have great respect for Felix, as he has really made an effort to immerse himself into the local culture. On top of that, getting to know him has been a real eye opener, and helped to dispel any negative cultural stereotypes.
