In multi-culture societies, a mixture of different ethnic people, bring more benefits than drawbacks. To what extent do you agree or disagree.

Today, more and more people from different cultural backgrounds live together. Opinions are divided on whether this is a positive or negative development.
Those who support the idea believe that multi-cultural societies can bring about at least two benefits. In the first place, as they argue, if a society is multi-cultural, people can learn from each other. This means they have more opportunities to experience each other's unique customs and life styles and understand their ways of thinking, thus gaining a better understanding of the world. More significantly, living with people of different ethnic groups will enable us to become more understanding and tolerant, which is, of course, very important to a peaceful world. In my neighborhood, for example, there are people from China, India and Africa. During Chinese New Year Holidays, we invite our Indian and African friends to our house and show them how Chinese people spend their Spring Festival. Our Indian neighbors teach us how to play cricket, which is their national sports and African friends show us the beautiful dances particular to their culture. In this way, we share what we have and learn what we do not, and our neighborhood is always happy and full of joy.
Those who do not like multi-cultural societies argue that some problems may arise in such societies. If people stick to their own ways of doing things and refuse to respect other cultures, there will be conflicts among people. To cite just one example. Many Chinese people love noisy parties and gatherings, but this is completely unacceptable to many Westerners who are more quiet in nature. Similarly, when an Indian believing in Buddhism finds his Chinese neighbor killing a fish , he may also feel very uncomfortable. If these people from different cultural backgrounds live together without showing respect to their neighbor's habit and religion, they may eventually hate each other and more serious consequences may follow.
Despite of the problems that may arise from the multi-cultural societies, I still think such societies are more attractive. When people from different cultural backgrounds interact together, they can share, they can learn from each other, and they can understand each other better. This situation is definitely more favorable for the world's stability and peace than making people live separately.
