Task1:

The graph below gives the information about the common activities children of different ages in the United States do as part of their bedtime routines. Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

参考范文

The bar chart demonstrates different activities that American children of three age groups usually take at their bedtime. As can be seen from the graph, reading enjoys the greatest popularity in all age groups. This is particularly true of children aged 4-5, of which 70% choose to read books. The figure for children at 1-3 years old (65%) and that for children at 6-8 years old (58%) are a bit lower. Brushing teeth and having a bath are vital parts of children’s bedtime routines, with roughly 35% children of three age groups preferring these activities. To be more specific, the proportion of children brushing teeth showed an upward trend with the growth of their age, whilst the reverse was true of children who take a bath, with children at 1-3 years old (40%) outnumbering those at 6-8 years old (32%). By contrast, watching TV and eating are the least popular among all the bedtime routine activities. The percentages of children at 1-3 years old (16%), 4-5 years old (20%) and 6-8 years old (18%) who watch TV are basically the same. In addition, the proportion of children aged 6-8 who choose to eat before sleep is the lowest, at only around 8%. Overall, we can see that children in the United States prefer reading other than watching TV and eating as their bedtime routines.
