Can you imagine a world without science? That must be unthinkable for any country. Should science subjects then be the only focus of government investment in education? I can hardly endorse this.

To achieve an appreciable national prosperity, science education could not be more important. It is believed that with more funds invested in these curricula, there would be more in-houseelites in the fields of electronics, telecommunication, robotics, medicine, to name but a few. Who these elites are, are meritorious people to European countries and the United States in industrial revolutions, helping them leapfrog rungs on the development ladder. Besides, well-educated people on science, in most cases, are more visionary, who are more likely to be participative in the development of their nation.

However, for advance to happen, the investment on other subjects must also go hand in hand. This is because pragmatically speaking, arts and humanities can also offer benefits to a country, tangible or intangible, culturally or artistically. Without History, a subject introducing past achievements, how could the sense of belonging be strengthened and thus the country be united? And without designers, the face of a city would be a mess. At this point, all liberal arts disciplines, as the basic requisites, instill sound values in citizens and equip them with abilities to perfect the country.
