Do you agree or disagree with the following statement?

The more money people have, the more they should give away to charity.

Every year when Forbes Billionaire List is announced to the public, it always comes up with a continuous asking for those on the list to give more donations. From my perspective, this should be encouraged but not forced.

Admittedly, requiring more funds from wealthy people does relieve most dilemmas facingphilanthropic organizations. Without enough finance, they always struggle with their job, which means a lot of people in need cannot be assisted. If the money were possible to be gathered from wealthy groups, it would be a straw to clutch for countless poverty-stricken areas and its citizens. However, money disposal is a rather personal issue. To be specific, it may be venerable if one could allocate his or her property to voluntary work, but when they do not follow the public’s expectation, being denounced is unnecessary. Take many affluent people as an example, great wealth as they earned, we seldom hear about their donation to any charitable activity. Instead, their luxury lifestyle like wanton shopping orspending money with gay abandon is always reported, even this cannot be the reason tocompel them for public service and they are the only manager for own fortune. Therefore, rich people should not be the target for moral abduction.

Second, charity should not be only counted on money. The purport of aid organizations is offering helping hand to the disadvantaged groups or victims and their misery and sufferings do not only rely on financial support. There is a charitable group for anti-domestic violence, whose main job is not collecting money but public’s recognition and comfort for those sufferers. So do many other groups in charity. Although funds sometimes may be the solution, the more is based on people’s responsibility and mercifulheart. Worse, once the levy becomes compulsory, it may trigger repulsion for the activities which are supposed to be beneficial. In order to be off the hook, some fat cats even fabricate the annual salary or evade tax and these are definitely what we want. Worst of all, ordinary people would form a wrong concept that the charity is only the duty for the wealthy. Influenced by this, hardly can charity grasp the attention from all human beings and have a way with the ignorance. What if we encourage rich people? Results must be more positive.

At this point, more money for charity is likely to be realized by people with more earning, however it does not have to be a command considering the potential consequence.
