n. 报纸；报刊/新闻记者；
e.g. press reports/coverage

在雅思听力中常见的替换形式：media; newspaper; TV 等。
如10-2-2 选择题：

原文：there has been quite a bit of discussion in the local press about whether there would be enough room for the number of visitors we are hoping to attract.
注意两者的替换，否则容易听丢定位。

2. pop-up /'pɔp,ʌp/
adj. appearing on the screen over another window or document 弹出的
e.g. pop-up window 弹窗
e.g. pop-up notifications 弹窗通知
e.g. pop-up ads 弹窗广告，也可以直接称为：pop-ups
口语话题：What kinds of ads do you dislike?
如：I hate pop-ups! they are so annoying and always disrupt whatever I do on the webpage! And it is incredibly difficult to block pop-ups!
注：block 屏蔽
pop up [phrasal verb] 突然出现：
e.g. if ads keep popping up on your phone, it is likely that your phone is infected with malware.

3. hype /haɪp/
v. talk or writing that is intended to make people excited about or interested in something or someone 大肆宣传；炒作；
搭配：hype someone/ something up
e.g. e.g. The film was hyped up too much. (哪部电影我不说)
e.g. It seems that celebrities are over hyped in comparison to highly educated and professional people. (常年住热搜的那种)
n. 炒作，大肆宣扬
e.g. There's been a lot of hype around/surrounding his latest film but
it failed to live up to all the hype.
4. exaggerate /ɪɡ'zædʒəret/
v. 夸大;夸张；
e.g. The press has exaggerated the whole event to make it sound more dramatic than it actually was.
e.g. Those ads are full of exaggerated claims! (广告中那些夸大产品功效的言论)
n. exaggeration
e.g. The report was filled with exaggerations and outright lies.
注：outright lies 赤裸裸的谎言
常见搭配：It is no exaggeration to say that... 毫不夸张的说
e.g. It is no exaggeration to say this is so far the best movie I have seen this year!
