The eclipse was still visible through the drizzle that was finally relieving the land of drought.Now we would not need to dwell on whether it would rain or not anymore.The dynasty would go on and the Duke would get the Easter celebration he had been dreaming of with a dwarf,a pony,and 100 large rabbits!This had nothing to do with the eclipse;it was just interesting how the ebb and flow of life often mirrored ecology.One could say life with a Duke was eccentric just as one could dub the weather as having dual personalities—it either took care of you wonderfully when you were at a low ebb or it hit you like dynamite when your were living in ecstasy.

As I walked back in the evening from watching the eclipse I stopped to pick some edible berries from a bush.The supply was dwindling because it was the end of the growing season.But I was able to pick enough berries to add to the turkey dressing being prepared for the celebration.It was a dubious task,working for a Duke.But I had a place to dwell and an income in duplicate of that from any other job in my life.My interest in the work was not ebbing.On the contrary,I was finding it more and more interesting to have to meet the eccentric needs of a man who still wanted to see Easter bunnies on Easter.

I continued walking;pulling at the earring the Duke had given me.It was oddly shaped,but I laughed when I remembered that it was an exact duplicate of the one he had given to me at the previous Easter celebration when he had just hired me.Then I had to get a tiger,a giant,and 50 rabbits!Well this celebration would be better!
