I think university should create a lounge for commuter students, where students who don’t live in dormitories could have a place to socialize and relax.
Many students at our university do not live in dormitories. These students, like me, live in town or in the suburbs and travel to campus every day, to attend class and to participate in some extracurricular activities at school. Though, there have already been lots of lecture rooms and some seminar rooms for student to use as long as they’re not occupied with courses, I still believe that it's necessary to provide students a specific place to relax, like at noon or when they want to have a change of scenery after a long-time review.
I suggest that university could provide these commuter students with a special lounge in the student center - with couches, chairs,and a television. I know there’s a lounge located on the first floor of student dormitories. One of my friend, Sherry, told me that it's very central to student life, and people there can actually help with her school work. Students can chat and watch TV on couch in leisure time. If there's one in student center, it will give commuter students some of the same advantages that dormitory residents now have. An important additional feature of the lounge can be a bulletin board on the wall for posting and sharing information, like a car share that may be especially useful to commuter students and their particular needs.
