I'm going to talk about one day that a friend of mine celebrated his birthday last Saturday evening.
My friend had booked a table in a local Italian restaurant for the party. It was a small, family-run place, but this made it feel all more welcoming and inviting. The atmosphere was great and the service was excellent.
As I mentioned, I went to the restaurant because a friend had invited me to celebrate his birthday there. There were about ten of us there - mostly people I’ve known since university and it was really nice to catch up with them and chat about what we had all been up to since we last got together.
During the party, we enjoyed tasty Italian dishes, and I've heard that the chef of this restaurant had been living in Italy and learnt cooking skill specifically for five years. Because it was the birthday of my friend, the kind owner of restaurant gave us a discount, and surprisingly served every one of us a delicate handmade cake to cheer up. We simply had a chitchat, laughing and drinking, for the whole night. Except the transport fee of bus that I took went there and back to my home, I didn’t spend any extra money during that day, but I enjoyed it very much.
