Dear Sir or Madam,
As someone who believes in proving credit where credit is due, I am writing this letter to compliment you on the fine meal we were served last Saturday, as well as the excellent service we received. If you remember, we were the party of eight celebrating our friend’s birthday, the group who sang “happy birthday” while standing on the tables (thank you for not complaining about that, by the way). We chose your restaurant mainly for the food and the wonderful ambience you have – in particular the traditional artwork and classical architecture of the place.
I would mainly like to thank you for the excellent birthday cake you provided for s. I don’t know where you found a baker willing to make an entire cake out of marzipan, but it was absolutely delicious. Also, please pass my compliments to your waitress, Sharon, who was most attentive to our needs and always smiling.
Rest assured, we’ll definitely be coming back.
