Dear Sir or Madam,
I’m writing to thank you for the service you provided on our son’s 10th birthday party last Sunday. I’m sure you remember us – we were the party of twenty hyperactive ten-year-olds. I recall you voicing your concern that giving the children so many sugary treats was probably a mistake and, in retrospect, you were absolutely right, but I thank you for not forcing the issue.
In particular, the children were all very pleased with the unlimited refills of Coca-Cola that they received, as well as the mini-cupcakes that you so thoughtfully provided. Even though half of them were sick afterwards, they had a wonderful time. Please pass my apologies on to your wait staff for having to clean up the mess that the children made. In particular, I would like to single out your waitress Ellen for praise. Despite being screamed at by twenty children demanding more food, she never once lost her composure and always had a smile on her face for them. Please find ten pounds enclosed as a gift for her.
